SBIA Presents Congressman Keith Rothfus (PA-12) with Champion of Small Business Investing Award

WASHINGTON, D.C. (October 25, 2016) – The Small Business Investor Alliance (SBIA), the leading association of lower middle market private equity funds and investors, recognized Congressman Keith Rothfus for his support of small business investors by presenting him with the SBIA Champion of Small Business Investing Award this afternoon at Uncle Charlies Sausage Company. SBIA honors select Members of Congress with this award as recognition for their support of small business investors.

“Congressman Rothfus is a true friend of small business investors in Pennsylvania and very passionate about making sure Congress is prioritizing small business capital formation issues as a key member of the House Financial Services Committee,” said Brett Palmer, President of SBIA.  “SBIA is grateful for Congressman Rothfus’s support of our Capital Formation Agenda, including his co-sponsorship of key legislation intended to reduce regulations on small business investors.”

“Congressman Rothfus is a strong advocate for Small Business Investment Companies (SBICs) as a key Member of the House Financial Services Committee,” said Steve Gurgovits, Managing Partner of Tecum Capital in Pittsburgh. “We are grateful for his tiresome efforts to reduce duplicative burdens on SBICs.”

Presenting the Champion of Small Business Investing Award to Congressman Rothfus was Stephen Gurgovits, Tyson Smith, and Joel Pokorney of Tecum Capital, an SBIC based in Pittsburgh, PA.

SBICs have invested over $950 billion in Pennsylvania small business over the past five years. There are 15 SBICs based in the State of Pennsylvania, including Tecum Capital in the Pittsburgh area.
